Oakhurst Modern

This kitchen remodel included removing one wall, adding a wet bar, and seating at a large island. 

Vitas Prairie-style

This home was built in 2009 on a lovely lot next to an established parkway. The homeowners have an affinity for Japanese art and architecture, and natural materials, so they hired Ken Dahlin of Genesis Architecture who designed this custom prairie-style home. The homeowners and I added the Japanese accents.

Farmhouse-inspired kitchen

This style of this compact kitchen's renovation was inspired by the homeowner's love for her childhood farmhouse kitchen. By moving most of the appliances and increasing the amount of cabinetry and countertop, the new kitchen is now a pleasure to work in.

Baythorn Theater

These homeowners requested a traditional-looking theater. We took that concept and made it as modern as possible while maintaining the feel of a classic all-red theater. We installed 19 hidden speakers, a 4K projector, and a 138” ultra wide screen. 

The chairs are power recliners with illuminated cup holders and rumblers. When the bass hits, the chairs rumble.  

Lighting, dedicated HVAC and theater controls are automated on a dedicated iPad. This room, above the garage, is completely sound-insulated from the rest of the home. 

Shooting stars: One goes off every two minutes; another every five minutes. The entire ceiling features a gentle twinkle.

No public theater comes close to this performance. It is a whole new level of home theater experience.

Artist's Kitchen

The homeowners asked the design/build team to help them update the kitchen to feel as traditional and welcoming as the rest of the home does. Original artwork, custom hickory furniture-like cabinetry featuring antiqued mirrors, and a glass tile backsplash contribute to the lively, artistic atmosphere.

Fairchild modern kitchen + laundry area

New Prairie model

Ken Dahlin of Genesis Architecture designed this 'New Prairie' ranch. Marianne Kohlmann of Blue Hot Design assisted him with interior material selections.

This is an ICF home with concrete walls both in the basement and on the first floor. The floor is a structural concrete floor with radiant heating. Exterior materials are brick, stucco, and asphalt shingles. 

Fox Point Spa Bathroom

This luxurious master suite for a high-style professional couple features a shower for two, a large wall-hung vanity, a heated bathroom and shower floor, and a variety of materials and textures. Redwood Kitchen

"Please update and expand our 1970's-era kitchen. Let's remove the laundry room so we can incorporate a large farm style expandable table, and a corking station."

Hotel-Style Bedroom

A plain jane master bedroom was infused with a shot of hotel-style and ambiance. Design details include custom cherry light rail, indirect lighting, window treatments, textured wallpaper, a new ceiling fan and a flat screen TV.

River Hills

A Colonial-style family room is updated with a new fireplace, white-painted beams, a flat screen TV and AV system, new furniture, updated wallpaper, and a contemporary Persian rug. Contractor: Carmel Builders. Design: Blue Hot Design. Persian rug: Shabahang Persian Carpets. This project won a Gold award in the 2013 Wisconsin Remodeler Awards competition.

Poplar Drive master bath

The couple who built this home 15 years ago still liked their master bathroom floor plan, but asked us to update it with a contemporary spa-like style including a freestanding soaking tub, wall-hung cabinets and  a large corner shower.

Modern Racine Villa

A modern rendition of the Palladian Nine-Square planning grid but done in a modern interpretation with overtures to Louis Kahn's architecture emphasizing sculptural quality and the play of light throughout the structure.

Clever Open Concept Kitchen

We transformed a small, dark kitchen in the middle of this home by opening it up to the adjacent dining room and family room. The island, now extending into the family room, works for both cooking and gathering.

We carved a luxurious bathroom out of the southwest corner of a large bedroom.

Onyx + Cherry Kitchen

In this traditional 1930s-era two-story home, our remodel updates the kitchen and opens it to the adjacent dining room One small window at the sink, shadowed by a second floor porch, was replaced with two large new windows. A small pass-through was replaced by a open peninsula featuring a slide-in range, and a raised countertop for family buffets.

Modern 5x8' Bathroom

A modest 1950s ranch house bathroom gets a modern makeover. A frameless shower replaces the pink bath tub. Luxuries include a heated tile floor, porcelain and iridescent glass tiled walls, a Solatube light tunnel, Kohler faucets and fixtures, a recesed Robern medicine cabinet, and an iridescent Venetian plaster ceiling by iPaint.

A vinyl window does not require protection from water the way a wood window does.

Three separate renovations: kitchen, master suite and powder room. The homeowners requested glamorous and luxurious spaces with all the latest features amenities.

Black & White Bath

A whole new floor plan made this bathroom more useful for the two sisters who share it. The traditional styling stays true to the home's original style, while the new vanity and two medicine cabinets give the remodeled bathroom plenty of storage. At the shower, the combination of a curtain and glass panel above the half-wall allow abundant natural light into that corner.

Wauwatosa Ranch Whole House Remodel. Took out two load bearing walls – cut in for new patio door- reconfigured 3 bedrooms so we could add a second full bathroom/master closet. All new flooring, custom maple cabinets, high-end wallpaper in both bathrooms, Kohler fixtures, new fireplace insert, two types of countertops with narrow island and built-in micro within Island. High-end Marvin Patio Door with built-in blinds. Created a very “Retro” feel for the clients – using all original millwork and incorporating finishes that replicated the 1950’s year the home was built.

Swan Park Universal Design

Hunters Hill Bath

Removing an unused bathtub gave us space for a large shower for two. We also rearranged the space for maximum storage, a make-up area and display. Luxuries include a heated tile floor, motion-sensor under cabinet lighting, and a walk-in shower for two.


Shoreland Contemporary

A young family bought this 1940s-era home in the walkable Milwaukee suburb of Whitefish Bay, knowing they would need to remodel it. 

To accommodate their family of four, we built a 2-story addition to include a family room, mud room, and part of a the newly-configured kitchen on the first floor, and a master suite on the second floor.
